It's hard to believe that Grace is 10! She is really growning up before my eyes.
When I asked her what she wanted to do for her birthday she wanted a slumber party! After doing that last year and not getting much sleep I decided to persuade her to do something different.

I asked around and thanks to my best friend Dawn who told me about a great little place not far from where we live, she had a blast!

The place is called "Soiree" french for Party! She had a spa party and the girls loved it!. She had 12 of her friends come and the all got facials, mini manicures and pedicures!

I think one of there favorite this was getting up on the stage and singing! We have some stars in the making in that group!

The ladies that own Soiree did a great job and I would recommend using them. They do all kinds of party's, pretty much anything you can think of.

One of my favorite things about her special day was her cake! Wow!!! It turned out amazing! I almost hated to eat it because it was so pretty, but knowing that it was made at "D's" I knew it would be wonderful!

Know I am not saying that I am back into blogging, because I don't want to put any pressure on myself, but I am going to attempt to blog once a week. Ha!

I have lots to talk about since it has been a year!! Ouch!! That is way too long!!!

Soccer Tournament

Hi everyone! Yes I am still alive, I have just been very busy with all the end of the school year stuff going on.
I have also started working out and that is taking some of my time also.
This weekend Trey played in his first soccer tournament! He is really getting the hang of it.
We are so proud of him.

I think I have a future rocker on my hands! Last night we played a little rock band and we put this crazy wig on Ty! He clearly knew that it was time to put on a show and that is exactly what he did. We were cracking up at him.

Easter "Bun Bun"

Here are a couple of pictures of Grace with her rabbit "Bun Bun".

As you can see he totally trust her. He barely lets anyone else even hold him. He is so soft he feels like cotton. His breed is a Mini Rex. They are known for their soft fur.

If you have thought about getting a new pet I would recommend a bunny. They are easy to care for and really sweet.

You just have to make sure they have enough space to move around. He has a nice hutch that he lives in. Also we keep him inside.

Japanese Style

Recently Grace attended a birthday party and it was Japanese style.

The girls all had kimonos, and put geisha makeup on. They fixed their hair up with the cutest little chopsticks.

Her friend's mom made the dinner most of it from scratch like won-ton soup, green tea, and rice with seaweed, Crab Rangoon and several other things. It was a great experience for all of them.

It was Graces first time to try Sushi and she actually liked it!

Each girl got a goldfish bowl with two goldfish to take home.

This was definitely a party she won't forget.

We really do have crazy weather here in Oklahoma. Just a week ago the kids were out in the sprinkler and today it is a major snow storm! These are a few pictures from my window. It is so nice to see the pretty snow and not ice!

Back in Business!

This week is Spring Break at our house and thank goodness my whole family is WELL!!! My hubby also took vacation so we have been doing a lot around the house.

We played outside Wednesday because the weather was awesome! It was in the 80's but we had a cool front come through last night so the highs were in the 60's today still not bad for March but not as beautiful as yesterday.

I actually laid out in the sun and read a book. Does it get much better than that?! We got the sprinkler out and Grace and Trey had a blast in it. As you can see from the pictures.

Ty wasn't as sure about the water. He mostly stayed out of it.

Tom and I went to the Elton John concert Tuesday night and I will be posting about that soon. It was awesome!! I had to use an old camera because they wouldn't let me take in my new one. We can't find the old cable to transfer the pictures anywhere so he might have to take it somewhere to get them off loaded! More to come later...

This has been a week of staying at home with sick children. It started with Ty getting sick with the Croup. I took him to the doctors office on Tuesday because he was sounding like Darth Vader. The poor guy could barley breath.

Luckily we have an awesome pediatrician that fixed him right up by giving him a steroid shot. The bad part was it made Ty irritated and wired. He couldn't decided what he wanted to watch Dora or Word World, no...Word World...no Dora....no Word World..You see where I am going with this. Talk about fun! I have watched more of both of those shows and any one person should have to watch in a lifetime!

I missed my Moms Day Out on Wednesday and stayed home with him. Wednesday night Trey decided to get sick. He was running a fever , headache. He ended up staying home Thursday and Friday.

Thursday morning Grace woke up with the stomach flu. Yuck!!

Can I paint a picture of projectile vomit all over my bathroom! Thank God we don't have carpet in there. I have spent much of my time sterilizing the house washing towels and sheets and trying to keep all of them for cross contaminating each other.

Now as we start spring break I am hoping that everyone will be well so we can actually enjoy the week. We can all use a vacation.

Catching Up

We had a very busy weekend at our house. I really didn't even have time to work on blogging at all. I'm not sure I even opened it up!

It started Friday morning. Grace had her speech meet at her school. She was SO nervous! She must have practiced it a hundred times.

I think I was as nervous as she was but she did great. I was so proud of her for getting up there in front of all those people.

Then later that evening we headed back to the school for a sleepover with Grace's cheer team. I volunteered to stay the night with the girls. Crazy me!!!

The girls had fun. We painted nails, did hair and makeup, made a craft, watched movies and ate pizza and popcorn.

I only got 5 hours of sleep but, was glad that I got that much. It was better than I thought I would get. The hardest part of the weekend was the time change. Ouch! I just hate it. Why do we have to have a time change?? So I am still trying to catch up.

Then Saturday afternoon Trey had his first soccer game of the season. He started practice several weeks ago and was very excited about playing a game.

Score!!!!

He scored 2 goals and his team won 15 to 2. He is finally getting the hang of it this year and has figured it out most of the rules.

So that's what we have been up to. I am caught up. Now if I could just catch up on all the house work I need to do. lol

25 Thing I Hate or "love" About Facebook

Actually I LOVE Facebook but a friend of mine posted this on her facebook page and I laughed so hard.
I love many of the things this guy hates but I had to agree on a few items.

Do you love or hate any of them?

One of my favorite things is when it's someones birthday and you can wish them a Happy Birthday.
One of the things I hate is when you comment on a picture and you get all the threads from other people commenting on the same picture. Even if you don't know that person.

I hope you get as big of a kick out of it as I did.

My birthday was this week and my husband got me a wonderful gift. A new camera! I love it although now I need to take another class to learn how to use it! lol I couldn't believe I got the three of them to all look at the camera and smile at the same time.

This is one of my favorites. Trey was being so sincere when he leaned against Grace and smiled.

Ty's first time to swing on a big swing. He was so excited.

The weather has been so beautiful the past couple of days so I decided to try out my new camera on the kids outside. Sadly it is supposed to be cold again tomorrow. Really..what do we expect in February. We enjoyed it while it lasted and it gave us a taste of Spring.

This week I have been in touch with several old friends. It got me thinking about my college years. I had a lot of fun those first couple of years. I met Tom when I was 20 and settled down quickly.

My first year in college I lived in the dorms with my good friend Carrie. Man, we had so much fun together.

You have to love dorm live. Staying up to late, eating horribly, and of course all the new freedom that living on your own for the first time brings.

My friend Carrie now lives in Texas and has 4 beautiful children and married to a really wonderful guy. She like myself got her teaching degree and but both of us stay home with our children now.

Her family still lives close to where we live and I have kept up with them.

There is just nothing like being 18, living on your own and going away and being a freshman in college.

Could my hair get any bigger? LOL

1.) It is Trey's sixth birthday.

2.) My blog friend, Annie, has done a special mystery blog about three mom's who have been a past President of an organization. I have been included among these three ladies in recognition of my co-founding our local MOM'S Club.

Wow! It has been a busy day. Not only was it Valentines Day. We also celebrated Trey's 6th Birthday and had many of our friends and family over. I will post about that on Monday which is his actual birthday.

Tonight I got a wonderful present Rock Band 2!! Yes you heard me right. What not flowers, candy or jewelry??? Nope I got Rock Band 2!! Actually it was what I asked for. lol
He also got me tickets to go see Billy Joel and Elton John in March. That's pretty romantic. :)

So what did you do on your Valentines Day???

I Rocked Out with the family. I can't imagine wanting to spend it with anyone else.

Grace and her friends got to cheer at a HS Basketball game a couple of weeks ago. They did a great job and really enjoyed themselves. Our boys won the game!

I just feel lost for words. I'm not sure why. Do you ever feel that way? It's not that I don't have anything going on it's just that I have been trying to juggle all the Valentine's Party's going on this week everyone needs candy, boxes have to be decorated, who needs what for each party, homework..homework..reading.

Also trying to get ready for Trey's birthday party this weekend I am having it at my house. You know what that means. Cleaning, cleaning and more cleaning...

I really need to order his cake. He wants Chocolate with cherries. Trey wanted a Pokemon party and thank God I have already ordered everything and it has come in.

I'm not even going to get started on the fact that V-day is also Saturday and we will be spending it at home with the kids. Not that there is anything wrong with that but it would be so nice to have a night out with just the hubby. You know what I mean. I just don't want to have to plan my own evening. I will probably ~~hopefully~~ have to eat my words because he will more than likely make it a wonderful evening with the kids.

Maybe it's that my birthday is in about a week and it used to be fun turning a year older but now it just means I am getting that much older. Wrinkles, fat, age spots!!! Yuck!

Also, my parents are in the process of moving this week and I haven't helped at all. I feel like a crappy kid! My dad has been working his tail off trying to get it ready to move in. My mom has been boxing things up and I want to go help, but I have this darn 2 year old that would get things out as fast as I could pack them. Maybe faster! lol

Some days I just feel like I am treading water and getting no where fast. I have been doing laundry all day and still have tons to do! How does that happen??

Ok..I know... why don't I just have a pity party for myself? SNAP OUT OF IT!!

Well I don't know about you but I already feel better. Thanks for listening to me. You guys are the best~!!

7 Things I love about my kids.

I love the way they play together and love each other.

I love spending evenings with them watching movies or playing games. All the memories we are making.

I love reading with them. Either having Grace read to me or reading to one of the boys.

I love watching they grow up! And the wonderful little people they are.

I love that God gave them to me. I feel so thankful for each of them.

I love how they make me laugh, and how I love them more than anything in the whole world.

I love how excited they are to see their daddy when he comes home from work. They each have such a wonderful relationship with him.

Also, today I receive a wonderful award from a new blog friend of mine. Misty , she has a charming blog and wanted me to pass this one on.

I have several things I have to get to today. Last week I was given some questions from Annie . She asked if she could interview me. I also received an award from Dawn. I don't know how much time I will have to work on this. With all my kids home from school today. Also, I just found out no school tomorrow either. We are iced in. And it just keeps coming!

Five Questions about Me.

1. Why is your blog called the Froggy Bottom Blog?

My friend Dawn and I went through a search on the web for blog names. I have her to thank for getting me into blogging at all. She tried for several months to get me to until I finally gave in and I am so glad I did. It has been the best experience. If you know anything about my kids you would know that they love frogs. In the summer they catch them all the time. Then we saw this name and it just fit. Also, one of my favorite movies is Oh Brother Where Art Thou, the name of the group in it "The Froggy Bottom Boys". It's kind of weird but that is how I came up with the name.

2. What is something that grosses you out or scares you that most people may not be bothered by? I am scared of someone taking my children or something happening to my children. I also worry about drowning or one of them drowning. We have a pool and sometimes it scares me having it. We also have a creek behind our house and I worry about that also. I can't stand needles or blood. Which is funny because I love scary movies. I won't ever get a tattoo because I would never be able to stand being around a needle for that long.

3. How did you meet your husband?
I met my husband though a mutual friend. I am so glad she introduced us. She had no idea that I would be interested in him. I have actually reconnected with her through..you guessed it FaceBook! We started talking and the rest is history. We have been together for almost 16 years. We started dating when I was 20 years old! I knew in the first month that I wanted to marry him but we waited 3 years to get married. It was well worth it.

4. What top 5 blessings has God given you in your life?

5. Who is your hero?

My Mom She has more strength, grace and beauty than anyone I know. She is also the one who shared the Lord with me first. I love her.

As you know, there are rules with these awards. That's ok with me. I need some guidelines to get me through these things.

I'm supposed to tell you 7 things about myself. Some of you may already know these things but, that's ok just humor me. lol!

My middle name is Paige. When I was a kid I wished people would call me that instead of Michelle because I knew so many people named Michelle.

I am a night owl. I could stay up late every night. I hate getting up in the morning.

I love scary movies. Actually I love to watch movies period! Tom hates scary movies so he has had to learn to watch them. He loves Sci-Fi so we have learned to watch both together.

I am double jointed and so are all three of my children actually Tom is too! Pretty crazy. Tom and I are also both left handed which makes it really nice at our house.

I would prefer a beer over a mixed drink. I am adding this one because Dawn commented on how cool it looks to drink a beer! lol She really doesn't like beer. I probably couldn't pay her to drink one.

I wish I had an accent..I mean like I was from Australia or something. Really how cool would that be?? I think about living in another country. I wouldn't mind it at all. I think it would be such an adventure. I can't wait till my kids are older and we can travel.

Speaking of George Clooney earlier in my post. My parent are good friends with George's Aunt and Uncle. They live right here in Owasso.

Oh...one more thing. I am addicted to Facebook!

1st Oklahoma Hoedown

Last night I met with a group of amazing other bloggers for Oklahoma. We went to dinner at the Fox and the Hound. We are hoping to make this a quarterly outing.

Annie and Chere were so sweet. I loved getting to visit with Annie. It was great to finally get to meet her.

Jessica and Melissa. I already know Melissa we live in the same area, but I am just getting to know Jessica and her blog.

Melissa, Sara and Jen. All gals for my hometown. I am so glad they all were there.

Annie, Dawn and I. Thanks Dawn for pulling this off. I had a blast!

It was really fun getting to meet Georgie and Jerri Lynn. Georgie had the cutest shirt on that her daughter made for her to wear. It said "I heart Dawn". We talked about making group shirts for the next meeting.

Melinda drove over two hours to come and I am so glad she did. I loved visiting with her. DeeBee was such a sweet lady. She has one of the first blogs I started following. I also met Maggie, she just moved here from Oregon! She cracked me up she was so funny. Maria was very sweet.
I am so glad that everyone came out! Hopefully next time some of our other blogger friends will be able to join us.

What a week. We have really crossed some bridges. First, we went to Oklahoma City to find out what Our Neurologist thought about the CT Scans we had done last month.

It's all Good News!! Praise the Lord! The doctor thinks his head is developing great. It has not refused. It is growing at the right rate.

For those of you who don't know what I am talking about Ty was born with Craniosysthosis. A medical condition in which some or all of the sutures in the skull of an infant or child close too early, causing problems with normal brain and skull growth. It can result in skull deformity caused by the premature closure of the cranial sutures.

I know that is a lot to take in, but when Ty was 4 months old he had part of his scull removed. It was horrifying, but it had to be done. A babies scull can grow back if they are under 6 months old!!

Now back on for the good news. We don't have to go back to OK City for 18 months!! We are so grateful for all the wonderful doctors and nurses that we worked with. Such an amazing group of people.

The second part to this story is that about a year ago, Ty wasn't walking. What?? You say. I know it is hard to believe as active as he is now, but it was very strange for any of you who know us. You will remember he walked on his knees everywhere. It was quite strange to watch. He did get were he wanted to go just not the normal way. When he would stand it would be on the very tips of his toes. I mean the VERY tips. Ouch! I don't know how he did it.

A friend of ours told us about Sooner Start.

Oklahoma's early intervention program is designed to meet the needs of infants and toddlers with disabilities and developmental delays.
Sooner Start services may include:
Diagnostic and evaluation services
Case management
Family training, counseling, and home visits
Certain health services
Nursing services
Nutrition services

Who is eligible?
Infants and toddlers through 36 months of age who have developmental delays or have a physical or mental condition (such as down syndrome, cerebral palsy, etc.) which will most likely cause a developmental delay.

There is no direct cost to families for these services, regardless of the their income. This program is mandated by federal and state law and is funded through various state and federal sources.

It is such a wonderful program. I would recommend it to anyone that thinks they need assistance with their child.

We had them come into our house and based on his assessment we qualified for the program. We had braces made for his legs. They gave me exercises to do with him and we did some physical therapy also and over the past year he has done awesome.

Ty with Lara and Jennifer our wonderful friends who came out and worked with Ty. We love them.

On Thursday they came out and we have decided to close his case based on how well he is doing.

So..can I say this has been one awesome week at our house.

Almost Wordless Wednesday

I am sharing this picture because this is what my life have revolved around for the past 3 days.

Ty has had a lot of trouble sleeping at night and nap time in his new room. We moved him a couple of weeks ago and he has done very well. He got a cold this last weekend and ever since then he has regressed. The past couple of nights I have ended up sleeping with him in his room just so everyone can get some sleep. We tried the first night letting him cry it out but he kept everyone awake. Another issue is the darn bottle! I know we need to stop giving it to him, I just know it is going to be really hard. Any ideas? I know it's going to be painful anyway we do it.

Full Moon Rising.

Did anyone notice the moon last night? It was the biggest and brightest one of this year, sure to amaze everyone who saw it. It was hard to miss it. It seemed as if you could reach out and touch it.

Earth, the moon and the sun are all bound together by gravity, this keeps us going around the sun and keeps the moon going around us. The moon makes a trip around Earth about every 30 days. The orbit is not a perfect circle. One part is about 31,000 miles closer to our planet than the farthest part, so the moon's apparent size in the sky changes. Saturday night January 10th the moon was the closest point to us on this orbit.

I was listening to the radio yesterday and they played a song by Kid Rock called All Summer Long. I am not a big Kid Rock fan but I really liked this song. It talks about being young back in 1989. It took me back. So, I thought I would share a prom picture of me and my friends back in 1989! Can you believe it's been 20 years. Wow! Time flys. Can you find me? I am the one in the light pink dress sitting in the front. Don't you love the big hair?!!

Today I thought it would just be a routine day. I got up and got the kids off to school which was very exciting after having them home for two weeks. I did some laundry and caught up on some email.

I talked to one of my friends Dawn, her daughter has been sick with a stomach bug. She was going to call in a prescription for some medication. I offered to run by the store and get it and pick up some lunch.

Little did I know my 5 minute trip to the store would take and hour!!! As I got out of the car I was talking on the phone "obviously I can't do two things at once", and threw my keys in my purse, unlocked the backdoor, shut my door and went to get Ty out. But wait, the door was locked and so was the front door! I had accidental locked the door with my keys and purse inside! Meanwhile Ty is still strapped in the back seat. Great...what do I do now?!!! Luckily I was still holding my cell phone so I tried calling Dawn. She said call 911 they will send someone over to open up the car. Sounded good to me. In less than 5 minutes a policeman was there with his magic tools to get me out. He said "this won't take but 2 minutes", I was relieved since I wasn't even wearing a coat and I was waving to Ty and trying to entertain him while he watched the nice policeman open the door. Unfortunately for me I guess my car has some heavy duty security system on it so that everytime he would unlock the door the alarm would go off. There was no getting in.

Mean while I had all kinds of new friend there to see how it was going or tell me their favorite story of locking their keys in their car. Actually a friend of mine showed up, getting ready to do her shopping and offered me her coat and gloves so wouldn't freeze to death.

We proceeded to stand there for about 40 min. Then it occurred to me that my dad might be home from work. He works really strange hours. So you never know if he is home or not. I called and sure enough he was there.

Lucky for me all the planets aligned and he was able to get in my house and get a spare key.

Long story short, after almost an hour outside I was able to get in my car. I got my friends coat back to her, got Dawn's prescription and lunch! Ty even clapped when we got the door open. It was truly a miracle that he never one time cried.

So, I thought it would be another routine day, but I had a little excitement after all.

For a while now we have talked about changing out our ceiling fans in the bedrooms. Actually we have talked about it since we moved into our house 2 1/2 years ago. Well, this weekend the one in our bedroom died. RIP... It was old like... 18 years old! Not the prettiest thing but it worked. That is until this weekend.

Tom loaded up the kids and went to Home Depot to find one. While he was there Trey found one and fell in love with it, so Tom decided to get matching ones for both of the boys rooms and retire the ones they had.

Tom has spent the better half of the day putting the new ones in. He told me the ones in the boys rooms where the hardest ones he had ever put up. They were in a million little pieces. I love this man! He is such a hard worker. He really is what inspired me to blog about Fans! I mean really who cares about ceiling fans. But around here it's big stuff!

On another note, totally unrelated to the rest of this entry, I wanted to share this picture of the sunset out my back door. I took it last night while it was still nice outside. Yesterday is was in the 70's outside here and today it is in the 30's! We really do have so crazy weather.

Looking back on this year I feel so blessed. Wonderful friends and a healthy family. I started blogging this year also and it has been such a great experience. I love all my blog friends and have enjoyed logging all my families adventures and reading about all of yours.

Wii are addicted

I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas. It has been very busy around my house. Christmas went on for a week! Like so many of you, we received a Wii for Christmas from Santa. I guess the Elf worked because that was what the kids asked for. Along with that we got Rock Band. Now, night after night we can't stop playing with it. We are addicted! It is so much fun!

Sunday night my husbands family came over for Christmas they drove up from Houston. Grace got on the Drums and Uncle Ryan played the Guitar. That's not the funny part, the babies went crazy! Kelsey, our niece thought it was the greatest thing she had ever seen. She and Ty are both 2 years old. I video taped them with my new Flip video camera! Wow! If you don't have one of those cameras you need to get one. I hope you get a laugh out of it like we did.

Elf on the shelf....

I don't know if you have heard of this or not but last night while we were eating dinner "santa" rang the doorbell. When we answered the door this little Elf was there with a letter from Santa and a book about the Elf. You should have seen the kids eyes when we read the letter to them. They were so excited.

Here is a fun new tradition you can start in your home. Elf on the Shelf is a little elf doll that reports directly to Santa Claus. Kids can tell the elf their Christmas wishes. It was so cute Trey actually went up to the Elf careful not to touch him, "there are specific rules that you are not to touch the elf or his magic will wear off and he won't be able to talk to Santa" and Trey whispered what he wanted for Christmas. They may also want to be on their very best behavior as the Elf on the Shelf has Santa's ear. Some children also like to name their elf. We named our Elf Arnie.

The elf moves around your home during the weeks before Christmas. During the holidays the elf watches the kids carefully during the day. At night when the kids are sleeping the elf magically returns to the North Pole to report to Santa Claus. In the morning the elf appears in a new place which offers a daily hide-and-seek ritual for kids. Kids will love trying to locate the elf's new location each morning. Grace found him this morning and was so excited to be the first one to find him. Elf on the Shelf comes with a hardcover book that explains the story and an elf doll.

The only thing we wish we he would have gotten here sooner. I just love this. They actually cleaned the game room on their own last night without us asking! Wish he could stay year round but the book says he goes back to the north pole after Christmas and returns the next year. I would highly recommend one of these guys for your house.

Christmas Parade

Saturday my dad took the kids and were in a Christmas Parade. I was really surprised how much Trey enjoyed it. It was really windy, but you know kids they didn't mind.

Ty was so excited to see all the cars and horses.

This is my dad's carriage and horse. He rebuilt it and painted it himself he really is very handy.

My dad gets totally into the whole act even with the Top Hat.Tom and I before we went out to his work Christmas party. I was pretty tired after a day of dress shopping with my brothers fiance, but hey a few hours without the kids is always a treat.

What a day! We took Ty in to have a 3D CT scan done on his head. We have had some concerns about a prior surgery he had done when he was a baby and wanted to check somethings out.

We got to the hospital at 8:15a.m. The procedure is only 2 MINUTES, problem is he is 2 years old and he had to stay totally still. Right! Good luck with that. So they had to sedate him. He went down with a fight but we finally got it done and left the hospital around 1:00 p.m.

We were so glad. When he woke up he was in a good mood. Kind of out of it but doing just great!

Now onto my other son...

Trey came come today and said "mom, I don't get to go on the playground Monday". When I asked him why, he quickly answered me, "Because Nathan slapped me in the face so I punched him in the stomach twice." So...I thought to myself, how do I handle this? I am thinking good for you Trey, you defended yourself, but on the other hand, he needs to know not to hit others.

So, I got my composure together and proceeded to tell him that he shouldn't hit anyone and if it happens again to just tell the teacher. Not to hit back.

Then I ask him how it all started and he says "on the playground he pushed me out of the line then I pushed him out of the line, then he pushed me..then I pushed him...then he pushed me...then I pushed him. Ok, you see were I am going with this. '

My daughter is in third grade and has never gotten into trouble. This in new territory for me. He is only in Kindergarten and already been in trouble twice.

How could anyone be upset at that face??

The first time he got in trouble "drum roll" was for Kissing a boy, I was like! Yikes!!! Now I can say I think he was just showing his affection for a good friend and it was on the cheek, none the less it's just not something you want to get a email about from your child's teacher. It appears as I have a very passionate child, in good ways and bad.

I love this boy! It's going to be fun to see what the future holds with him.

Wow! I am glad this day is almost over. Tomorrow I am going to look at wedding dresses with my brother's fiance and Tom and I have a Christmas Party tomorrow night. It's going to be a fun!!! I'm just glad the clock starts over everyday. :)

This weekend was the big day. After rehearsals and fittings the AG Fashion Show was here. We had to get there 45 minutes early for the girls to get ready. The Show was to benefit Junior League of Tulsa.
They really had the room set up pretty. Each table was named after each AG doll they had snacks and drinks set out on each table. It was so fun.

This was the first outfit she came out in. Grace was dressed up like one of her favorite dolls Samantha.

Here it is 1989...I have the bangs going for me. Can you believe my dad rebuilt this car for me when I turned 16? It looks cool but boy it wasn't the easiest thing to drive. I only kept it for about a year and traded it in on a 280 ZX. Remember those??? In the background is my brother with the baseball cap on. He would have been 11 years old. Wow! Time sure goes by fast.
Oh..notice the jeans I am wearing "white washed, with the zippers at the bottom" lol, got to love them.

Yesterday was such a wonderful day. Not only was it Thanksgiving. We celebrated my moms 60th Birthday. My brother and his fiance were in town and they made sangria which were a big hit. (especially with my mom!) And of course we ate way way too much!

During the afternoon, my brother asked if I would take their engagement pictures, so we drove to a beautiful location and I snapped away. It was easy to take them since they were so obviously in love. I am so thankful for Marne and how she has changed my brothers life for the better. She is such a beautiful person inside and out.

I know Christmas can be stressful for everyone, but this year and like every year there are those who won't receive anything for Christmas. My daughter was so excited when she got the information about Operation Shoe Box.

All you do is fill a Shoe Box with things such as crayons, toothbrush, candy, toys, ect. She worked for several days getting all the items together and then wrote a note to the child (whom we don't know) and place stickers all over the outside of the box then she took it to school today.

Her school will ship all the boxes over seas to less fortunate children. I think it was such a great idea to get the kids involved in giving at Christmas time. It also helps them be apart of the Spirit of Giving.

Today Grace and her friend were fitted for the American Girl Fashion Show through Junior League. Grace is really excited because she get to dress up like Samantha, the new doll she got last month when we went to the AG Store in Dallas. She also gets to wear three other outfits for other dolls. She is so excited!

We celebrated Ty's 2nd Birthday this weekend. It was a small party with only family. I mean really it is about the only chance I am going to have to not have a big party for him. We decided to make it simple. He wanted to do the Car's theme.

One of his favorite things was this great activity table. He can use his cars and trains to play with it and the best part is the tracks don't come apart! No work for mom...

He loves Word World. They have the cutest toys out there for the show. This was actually plush letters that were held together with magnets. Love it!
I think my other kids were just as excited as he was about getting new stuff.

Annie at werehavingaball tagged me and I am going to try it. The instructions say to list 7 weird/random things about yourself. Here goes.

1) My fingers are double jointed. Actually not only mine are but my husband and all three of our children! I had never known anyone else like this and then I met my husband. Now we have added three more strange people to the world! lol

2) I love scary movies. I am not sure why I love them but I can't wait until October because they start showing them on TV. every year I watch the same ones, and when I new one comes out I get so excited.

3) I have dreams about Tornados all the time! I haven't actually ever been in a tornado but I guess it is my idea of what it would be like. I have looked up what it means and dream books say that there is chaos in my life. I guess this is true!! I feel like I am always trying to juggle everything going on around me.

4) I never forget a face. My husband thinks it's crazy because I have actually been out and seen someone that I only met once and it could have been ten years ago and I will remember, also sometimes I have just seen a picture of someone and if I run into them I will know who they are from the picture even if it is a really old picture. On the other hand, I can't hardly ever remember phone numbers. Thank God for cell phones with phone books in them!!!

5) If there would be one food and drink I would have to choose to eat/drink for the rest of my life it would be Diet Coke and Tacos. Although I would have to throw in Chocolate..I would probably die without that!

6) I love knowing the name of a song and the singer/group. It is almost a game for my husband and I. We are huge music lovers. All kinds!! Everything from 50's to new music. If we hear a new song it is like a challenge for us to look it up and find out who sings it. Also, It will drive me crazy if I hear a song and can't figure out what the name of it is. I will get on the internet and type in all the key words trying to figure it out. I have actually been driving down the road and been writing lyrics down on a piece of paper and called Tom to find out what it was. Pretty Weird!!!

7) I am flat footed. It has been a problem I whole life. I have back problems and I had terrible leg aches as a child, I actually still get them sometimes. I don't like to walk very long because it makes my feet hurt really bad. If I could live somewhere that I never had to wear shoes I would. In the summer I live in flip flops because it's almost like not wearing shoes and in the winter I usually wear slip on shoes. I NEVER wear heals. On occasion I might wear those kitten heals but I even hate those. You probably won't ever catch me running a marathon.

Last night my daughter cheered at the football game. It was a perfect night to be outside. It was very nostalgic for me because it was the same stadium where I went to football games. Time sure flys. It's hard to believe its been so many years. I am not saying how many years. hehehe She was so excited.

We went over to my mom's house for dinner tonight and when we came home the moon looked so spooky in the sky. My husband took this picture and I thought it looked pretty cool with the lights from our house. I had to share.

In honor of the Fair, I decide to share a picture of my Aunt and I when I was 15 years old.
I went to stay with her in California and we went to one of those Old Time Picture Booths.
While at the fair yesterday my friend Dawn and I pasted one and started talking about how we had taken pictures at one of those years ago. So, when I was looking for an old picture I found this and thought it would make for a good laugh.

Dawn beat me to the punch! She kidnapped my camera "I left it in her car", and posted her blog about our day at the fair first. She is such an overachiever!

Our first stop was for some yummy fair food. I can just feel my arteries clogging up right now!

After we ate we took the kiddos over the the Petting Zoo! Ty ran from animal to animal! He was so excited! Camryn had to try to keep up, which isn't easy for anyone.

Next stop was to the Farm. He loved getting the eggs and riding on the tractor.

I can't believe they didn't fall asleep on the way home. They kept looking at each other and laughing. I think they had a great time. Such sweet memories.

This has to be my favorite time of the year. I love the cooler weather.
Halloween, Pumpkins, trick or treating, and looking forward to the holidays.
We paid our neighbor's kid to come over and weed our front flower beds.
My husband is now going back and adding mulch. Hopefully next year we will do a better job with keeping up with them. I don't have a before picture, it would be way too embarrassing to show anyone.

This weekend my daughter went to her friends 9th birthday party. It was Tea party and everyone brought an AG doll. I just had to share some of the pictures I took.

Her friends grandmother made the runners. Too Cute!! All the girls brought their own Cup and Saucer for Tea. And each doll had it's own cute and saucer also.

What a spread, she made everything from scratch.

This had to take hours! (Can you imagine?!!) I asked her how late she stayed up the night before and she said 3 am! Wow! That is more dedication than what I have.

She actually cut out each little shoe.

She made this cute hat cake, what a great idea. She is very creative.

So between this party and the last party where she went on a scavanger hunt all over town I will have to come up with something good. Any ideas?? I am open for suggestions.

I still have 6 months to plan! lol

The other day my 5 year old son decided he wanted to climb one of the trees in our backyard. He of course asked my husband first, but we had no idea he would be able to climb all the way to the top. My daughter who is 8 can't get in this tree at all.

When I came outside to tell everyone it was time to come into eat dinner, I about had heart failure.
In a few short moments I felt all these emotions. My first reaction was anger "get out of that tree right now!" Then it was fear, "be careful, don't break anything". Lastly it was amusement "wow, I can't believe he climbed all the way up there, wait a minute and let me get my camera"!
So, I ran in got my camera and he was happy to smile in his joy of accomplishment, and I took these pictures of Trey. Then I promptly asked him to come down slowly! lol

Tackle It Tuesday

Let me start by saying this isn't actually my project it is my husbands project.

This summer we had a horrible wind storm that destroyed our greenhouse. He prides himself on growing tropical plants to put around the pool during the summer. He actually digs them up in the fall and replants them every year!

My husband sent emails all over trying to find replacement parts to put it back together. Now, here it is 3 months later and getting closer to fall and eventually winter he has really started thinking.... A. Get an new greenhouse or B. Try to rig the one we have.

So, this weekend he decided he would try to put it back together.

6 hours later...it looked great! I was so proud of him for pulling a "MacGyver", for those of you over 35 you will know what I am talking about. lol

I told him I was going to use his project for my Tackle it Tuesday and blog about his success.

Oh...and think of all the $$$ we saved.

Last night my husband and I got a chance to go see American Idol in Concert! It was so nice to have a break and do something by ourselves.

The only downside was that is was raining a lot, but we didn't let that slow us down.

It was an awesome show, the performances were great, it was so fun to get to see the top 10 performers in person, David Cook came out into the audience and ran right past were we were sitting and Kristy Lee Cook was standing about 15 feet way from us watching the second half of the show. That was pretty cool. It was the first time I had been to the new arena, in our town. It really was beautiful.

Motherhood 101

When I think about being a mom and what it means to me it is hard to put into words.
There is truly no greater joy for me than being a mom.
It's the best job I have ever had, it's also the hardest and most rewarding.

I was just talking to my husband the other night about how I can't hardly remember life before we had children. I think I had a life before them but it's hard to remember.

Lately my brother and his girlfriend have been talking about marriage and babies and with that he has been calling and asking me LOTS of questions about what it is like to have children and what it is like to be a parent. So this a great thing for me to write about.

I was tagged by my new blog friend from Having a ball to blog about some lessons from motherhood, so thanks for asking me to write about this I'm not the greatest writer in the world but I will give it a spin.

Lessons I've Learned:

Nobody's perfect, It's ok to mess up. Parenting is difficult and no matter how many books you read, it can't totally prepare you for being a parent.

Each child is different and may need different kinds of discipline. You might have a very quite child that all you have to do is look at them and they will do what you ask or you may have a very strong willed child that needs much more to get them to listen.

Use a routine, kids thrive on it and do best if they know what to expect.

Two things you have to have in your house when you come home from the hospital are Tylenol and Gas Drops! I wish someone would have told me that when I was a new parent.

Remember God is in control of the situation. Each child is a gift from him and we are here to help them along the path of life. Cherish the time you have with them because to fast the grow up and will be gone.

Forget about sleep..once you have children you either get woke up at all hours of the night because they are little or they are teenagers and you are worried about what they are doing.

Children learn from example. The things you say and do will be a mirror into their behavior.

At the end of the day remember that they are God's children and we are here to guide and protect them, to teach them right from wrong and LOVE them, but we have to learn to let them make their own choices right or wrong and remember God is in control. No matter how hard it is for us. I work on that everyday.

I definitely don't claim to know everything about being a parent, I am learning everyday from my mom, my friends and my children...it is always a work in progress. The best work I have ever done. I love my job!

I think Ty has a real eye for fashion...Don't you think??? He decided to dress himself in Teletubbies PJ's and his brothers Scooby Doo briefs. Then top if off with his dads outside work shoes. Very fashionable I do say so myself. Then with all that work he passed out on the couch. It takes a lot of work to look that good :)

Asleep At Last

Ty is at the age "almost 2" 22 months that he has figured out how to get out of his crib.

So, for the past few weeks he is getting harder and harder to keep in his bed. We finally put a gate on his door, but he is determined to get in and out of his bed and try to get over the gate. It has started to become a game to him.

So today I hear him in there for almost an hour, I would go in about every 15 minute, say "No, No, it's time to go to sleep" and put him back in his bed but he kept getting out he wasn't crying or screaming he just wanted me to know he could get out and play and wasn't going to sleep no matter how tired he was.
Finally he got totally quite. So I go to look in on him and this is what I see... He finally fell asleep.
Of course..while taking this picture, he woke up, but the good news is that I put him in his bed and he went back to sleep!!! Yea

Follow-up Trip to Houston

Hi everyone,
I just wanted you to know Trey had a great time on his trip to Houston to visit his cousin Mitch.
They swam, rode bikes and went to the Space and Science Museum. He got to see some dinosaur bones, and lots of other interesting things, they stayed there for 6 hours so they must have had a good time!
He also did just fine riding on the airplane and actually go to meet the pilot.

Houston We've Landed

Please pray for my 5 year old son Trey. He has left on a trip to Houston with my mother in law for the 3 day weekend.

I know he will have a great time, but number one he has never been on an airplane, number two, he has never been away from us. Number three, he will be gone for 3 days!

Just pray that he doesn't get homesick, because he won't be able to just come home, and that he feels comfortable with Nana and Toms sister and her family. He knows all of them, he just hasn't spent a lot of time with them.

I think I was more nervous this morning when he left then he was.

Just keep him in your prayers..Thanks :)

Making Memories

Grace was invited to her friend Emily's birthday party the other night and they went on a scavanger hunt. She had the best time.
First they had a "Make Over" which you can see from the picture and then each parent took 3 girls and drove around to different places, for example The Movie Theater, Target, Chick fil A, the park where they had to find their goodie bags, even the Principle's house! They collected items, took pictures, had to sing, and a number of other things. I thought this was a great idea for a party and the girls had a blast! It's so fun to watch your children create great memories.

True Love

I just wanted to talk a little about my brother and his girlfriend Marne. They sent me a note yesterday, just to let me know they were thinking about me and seeing how I was feeling since my surgery. He has been dating his girlfriend for about 3 months now and he and she are head over heels. I also think she is precious and thoughtful in many ways. Plus she treats my brother wonderfully and loves him.

It is truly a blessing that they found each other since, my brother was suppose to get married last April. He and his ex had sent out invitations and I had already bought a my bridesmaid dress for $250.00! They dated for 4 years and about 3 weeks before the wedding they called it off. I was worried about him after the break up but actually he seemed happier than ever. I don't think he realized how unhappy he was, and he was still going to go through getting married to her. "I believe in Divine intervention". I always felt like he tried to hard with her and she did more receiving than giving. Not that I didn't like her because I did, but I never thought Tony was really happy, the way it should be when you want to spend your live with someone.

I pray that this is the right girl for him. He has never been so happy, hopefully they will live happily ever after. Until they have children. LOL

Sometimes my kids say the funniest things. Yesterday Trey got some new Pokemon cards. He opened them up and said "Mom! I have been trying to get this card for 4 years!" I just had to smile and say "Wow Trey, that's awesome, I can't believe you have been trying to get that card since you were 1 year old". He said, without blinking. "I know isn't it amazing." lol

Busy Weekend

This was a very busy weekend at our house. Not only was it my husbands birthday, filled with lots of eating..more eating did I say too much eating....lol and back to school shopping. My mom and I braved the crowds and headed over to the mall in 101 degree heat! Which I don't recommend doing unless you really need something.

We also went to a fashion show fundraiser for The Baptist Children's Home. There were 1400 people there! Wow! It was really something. We had lunch there and they had testimonial for children that had been through the program and then the fashion show, the kids showed off their new back to school clothes and church clothes.

So now it is back to the grind of trying to get laundry and cleaning done.

Last night we went out for my parents 40th Anniversary. I am very pleased to say my kids all did very well. It's always a challenge to take the youngest any where without him screaming at the top of his lungs. lol

We had a great food and a really nice time. Happy Anniversary Mom and Dad!
